HimInvert B - Emulsifier

Purpose

HimInvert B emulsifier based on fatty acid derivatives is used for well-killing fluids preparation and for invert emulsions preparation used for injection wells treatment in operations on equalization of injectivity profile.

Recommendations to application

The typical composition of invert emulsion for well killing is as follows:

2-6% of HimInvert B,
15-20% of hydrocarbon base (petroleum, gas condensate, diesel fuel),
brine and other components (adding of calcium chloride salts makes sense for better stability of sodium chloride solution) to 100%.

The emulsion viscosity is controlled by the ratio of hydrocarbon phase to aqueous phase. As the amount of the aqueous phase increases, the viscosity grows. The emulsion stability depends on the amount of the emulsifier used and on the quality of mixing at the moment of preparation. As may be agreed with the Customer, the emulsion properties can be modified towards better stability at elevated temperatures.
