HimFiber is self-destructing polymer fibers used in acid treatments of the face of the formation, acid fracturing in open-bore wells or in perforated wells. The reagent increases the viscosity of the solution, which allows the acid to get deeper into the formation and provides more uniform distribution. Thus, HimFiber helps to reduce the loss of acid solution, increase the duration of acid action and improve the results of stimulation by increasing the penetration of acid composition deep into the formation.

The technology with the use of innovative HimFiber fibers is designed to provide effective acid diversion and maximize the efficiency of acid treatment jobs in those boreholes where application of high elasticity systems is not efficient. As a rule, those are wells drilled into fractured reservoirs with high permeability contrast. HimFiber fibers added into an acid system is most efficient when it is jointly used with viscoelastic surfactant HimGel A or polymeric thickeners HimVis Liquid and HimVis, as a supplementary diverter, which makes it possible to minimize concentration of the viscoelastic surfactant/polymer and increase the efficiency of acid treatment. It allows to provide temporary prevention of absorption into natural cracks and permeable channels of carbonate formations by way of simultaneous colmatation of a thief zone with polymer fibers and high viscosity gel, forming as a result of a reaction between the self-diverting acid and carbonate rock. Standard consumption rate of the reagent is 4 to 8 kg/m3 . In addition, the used fibers completely disintegrate under the influence of temperature and reservoir fluids and do not contaminate the productive formation. The disintegration product is a weak organic acid, which also has a positive effect on the stimulation of the well during acid treatments.
