Chromium acetate is used in the oil and gas industry as a crosslinking agent of polymer-gel systems that increase oil recovery. The reagent has a high processability and allows simultaneous adjustment of gelation time and mechanical characteristics of the gel in a wide ranges.

The consumption of chromium acetate (for 100% of the main substance) is calculated in accordance with the ratio: concentration of chromium acetate = 0.1 * concentration of crosslinked polymer.
