HimBlock-400 - Compound for blocking lost circulation zones

Purpose

The formed plug has high adhesion to rock. After polymerization the “HimBlock-400” compound is stable towards aggressive mediums. Consumption rate of the reagent per one lost circulation zone is 500 to 1500 kg.

When the compound comes into contact with water, it swells out 25- to 50-fold. The maximum application temperature is +125 ºС.

Recommendations to application

The application technology for this material involves preparation of suspension in diesel fuel with the compound content up to 50%. The suspension is delivered to lost circulation zone through squeezing of fresh water with h/c buffering plug. Modifying agents are entered into this composition, to provide sedimentation stability of the compound in h/c medium.

Depending on the absorption power and presence/absence of circulation, various schemes for delivery of the reagent and its activating phase – fresh water, are selected, right up to forming a resin-like plug directly in a borehole, with follow-up squeezing of the crosslinked compound into a recipient formation.
