WellCoat AT P200

Purpose

WellCoat AT P200 is used as a rheology modifier during the production of various water-based paints, including glossy and semi-glossy varnishes and enamels. Due to the self-association of the terminal hydrophobic groups of polyurethane, optimal filling, ease of brush application and high masking coverage are achieved, contributing to the formation of an even smooth coating that is resistant to abrasion and moisture. The product can be used in conjunction with natural and other synthetic (acrylic and polyurethane) thickeners. WellCoat AT P200 is free of toxic organic solvents and alkylphenoxyethoxylates (APEO). The product is highly resistant to bacterial action, stable in a wide pH range.

Recommendations to application

If glycols, surfactants and water-insoluble co-solvents are added to the system it may affect the thickening properties of WellCoat AT P200 and lead to a decrease in dynamic viscosity. Preliminary tests are required to determine compatibility with various components of the paintwork materials. The recommended concentration of WellCoat AT P200 is 0.2-1.0 % of the total mass of the system, the optimal concentration depends on the requirements for the system and is determined by laboratory tests. Please contact Himprom representatives in order to choose the optimal concentration. WellCoat AT P200 must be stored in closed containers at temperatures from +5 °C to +35 °C, avoiding exposure to low temperatures, strong heat and direct sunlight. If the storage conditions are violated, irreversible precipitation of the polymer and loss of efficiency are possible.
